Even if you spend most of your time in the water, you can still get sunburned, especially on your back. Use a water-resistant, reef-friendly sunscreen or wear a diving T-shirt for protection.

Coral reefs and marine life are very sensitive. To protect them, make sure you don't touch either the coral or the marine animals. Simply observe their beauty.

Avoid frenetic flailing. Instead, move slowly and steadily, not only to move efficiently, but also to avoid frightening the marine life around you.

It's easy to forget how demanding the activity can be on your body. Make sure you drink plenty of water before and after your snorkelling session.
