Driving a motorized vehicle is always subject to the possibility of danger. That's why it's important to take all the necessary precautions before driving a buggy in Tenerife.
Regulations for buggy riding in Tenerife
- No special conditions are required, but the driver must have an original B driver's license.
- Drivers must be over 18 years of age.
- Children may accompany their parents and will be seated at the rear of the buggy. The minimum height requirement is 120 cm.
- Please note that buggies are equipped with automatic gearboxes. Some drivers may need a little getting used to. But don't worry, our instructors are on hand to explain everything.
- The buggy tour is run in groups, so there will be several of you taking part.
- Unfortunately, the buggy is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
- If you cancel 48 hours in advance, you may be entitled to a refund, subject to the terms and conditions of each company.
Equipment needed for a buggy outing
In terms of equipment, here's what you'll need before a buggy outing on the largest island in the Canary Islands:
- Make sure you're well-shod, so as not to be injured by the buggy or by pebbles thrown up from the off-road track. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
- Dress in comfortable clothes so you can ride at ease, bearing in mind that this is a rather messy outing. Long pants are preferable to avoid any scratches and to protect you from the damp and cold, especially in winter on Mount Teide.
- Helmets and goggles are provided by the organizer.
- Don't forget your sun cream and your camera (or smartphone), preferably with a protective cover.
- Remember to bring water and snacks.
- If you're going on a buggy adventure with your children, pack the essentials (without overloading yourself) that they'll need for a great day out on the beaten track.
